Arsenal are set to complete their first signing of the January transfer window by bringing in Hertha Berlin teenager Omar Rekik.
It is understood the deal will cost the Gunners around £900,000 and the defender has landed in London to finalise the move.
Rekik looks set to be Arsenal’s next signing
Rekik, 18, is expected to link up with Arsenals Under-23 squad, alongside fellow promising centre-back William Saliba, who is yet to make his senior debut for the north London club.
The 19-year-old joined the Gunners for £25million from Saint-Etienne last year and was loaned back to the French club for the 2019/20 season.
Upon his return to the Emirates, there was a belief he would get a chance to impress under Mikel Arteta.
Rekik posted a picture on Instagram showing him touching down in London
However, he has been restricted to minutes in Arsenals Under-23 team and was sent off in an EFL Trophy match earlier this month.
Elsewhere, Spanish outlet Defensa Central say Arsenal are keeping tabs on Real Madrid outcast Isco.
The Spain midfielder could be an alternative to Houssem Aouar, who is being linked with a move to Los Blancos.
Aouar was one of Arsenals top summer transfer targets, but remained at Lyon after the club failed to meet his £55m valuation.
Isco is struggling for first-team minutes under Zinedine Zidane
Isco is out of favour at Real Madrid having started just three of their 13 LaLiga games this term.
With Mesut Ozil frozen out in north London, Iscos creativity would be invaluable for an Arsenal side that has scored just 11 goals in their 13 Premier League matches so far this term.
