A person has been critically injured after a Porsche crashed into a wall during a track day at a Christchurch raceway.
Emergency services were called to Ruapuna Raceway off Hasketts Rd in Templeton about 11.15am on Friday.
The venue was holding an open test day for racing competitors, who are all required to have a New Zealand competition licence.
Stuff understands events at the raceway are generally set aside for track testing for both motorcycles and race cars.

Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman Andrew Norris said two crews from Wigram and Ilam rescued the driver, who was trapped in their car, shortly before midday.
A St John spokesman said the driver suffered critical injuries and was taken to Christchurch Hospital.
A raceway spokeswoman confirmed there had been a crash but declined to say anything further.
WorkSafe was notified of the crash.
