PETALING JAYA: Malaysia recorded 4,498 new Covid-19 cases on Friday (May 7), bringing the cumulative total to 432,425, according to the Health Ministry.
The last time Malaysia recorded over 4,000 cases was on Feb 4.
Selangor has the highest number of infections at 1,424 followed by Sarawak (750) and Kuala Lumpur (436).
Twenty-two deaths were also recorded, bringing the death toll to 1,632.
The number of recoveries is lower than new cases, with 3,449 patients being discharged in the past 24 hours.
In total, 396,004 patients have recovered from Covid-19 in the country.
Active cases are now at 34,789.
Currently, 372 people are being treated at intensive care units, with 211 of them requiring ventilator support.
