PUTRAJAYA: Malaysias Covid-19 cases continued to rise, with 2,551 new infections recorded in the country on Friday (April 15).
Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah in a Twitter post said Sarawak recorded the most cases with 960 new infections.
This is followed by Selangor with 590 cases.
There were 29 import cases involving 10 Malaysians and 19 foreigners.
There were two more Covid-19 deaths, taking the countrys death toll up to 1,365.
The number of people discharged on Friday was 1,524, bringing the total recoveries in the country to 350,563.
Active cases are now up to 18,600.
Of that total, 227 patients are receiving intensive care treatment, with 91 on ventilator support.
This is the second day in a row that daily Covid-19 figures numbered above 2,000.
On Thursday (April 15), the country recorded 2,148 new cases.
Since the pandemic began, Malaysia has had 370,528 confirmed Covid-19 cases.
