A man in his 30s has been arrested in connection with the incident

Gardai rushed to the scene of an alleged attempted child abduction in Co Offaly.
The incident happened in the Arden View area of Tullamore at around 6pm on Sunday.
A man in his 30s has been arrested in connection with the incident.
He is being held in Tullamore Garda Station under Section 17 of the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act, 1997.
This act states: “A person, other than a person to whom section 16 applies, shall be guilty of an offence who, without lawful authority or reasonable excuse intentionally takes or detains a child under the age of 16 years or causes a child under that age to be so taken or detained.”
Gardai added that the investigation into the incident is still ongoing.

A spokesman said: “Gardaí in Offaly are investigating an alleged incident that took place just after 6pm on 21st March 2021 at Arden View in Tullamore.
“A man, aged in his 30s, has been arrested in connection with this incident and he is currently detained at Tullamore Garda Station under Section 17 of the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act, 1997.
“Garda enquiries are ongoing.”
