Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic has not started a single game under Thomas Tuchel and Liverpool are reportedly taking interest

Mar 10, 2021

Liverpool are reportedly monitoring Christian Pulisic’s situation at Chelsea.
The winger is yet to start a game in the Premier League under manager Thomas Tuchel, with the Stamford Bridge coach admitting leaving Pulisic out on Monday night against Everton was “unfair” while speaking apologetically about not giving the player a chance since taking over.
Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has made no secret of his admiration for Pulisic in the past and the player was a target for Liverpool in the summer of 2018, before the club opted to sign Xherdan Shaqiri.
Pulisic switched to Chelsea in January 2019 and wrote himself into Liverpool folklore the following summer by effectively scoring the goal against Manchester City, with a wonderful solo effort, that saw the Premier League title heading to Anfield.

Klopp has also worked with Pulisic before, and although he never played a senior match for the German boss, the attacker joined his Dortmund side as a 16-year-old in 2015, shortly before the coach left for Liverpool.
And, last summer, Pulisic said he remains indebted to Klopp for his help behind the scenes.
Speaking about his time at Dortmund on the 13&Me podcast
, Pulisic said: “Im getting ready, going to training and its just unreal. I was 16 or 17 and Im going in the warm-up and theres huge names at the time.
“Theres [Pierre-Emerick] Aubameyang, Marco Reus, Matts Hummels, [Henrikh] Mkhitaryan. All these guys and they were just in the Champions League final the year before.
“Its like Im going in and Im just this 16-year-old kid. I was thinking just do my best. I was just so excited and Im just thankful to Jurgen Klopp that he gave me that opportunity.
“Ill take that with me forever and Im really grateful.”

Now, the Daily Mail are reporting that Tuchel’s latest snub to £58million Pulisic has put the likes of Liverpool, Bayern Munich and Manchester United on high alert.
“Admirers of his attacking versatility are beginning to take interest in his situation,” the report states.
Under Tuchel, Chelsea are now unbeaten in nine league games.
Mason Mount, Timo Werner, Kai Havertz, Callum Hudson-Odoi and the out of sorts Hakim Ziyech have all been utilised in the No 10 position but Pulisic has contributed little, having been left out of every one of Tuchel’s Premier League starting line-ups.

“It is my responsibility and it is a bit unfair but I know what impact he can have in the last 20 or 30 minutes,” Tuchel said about Pulisic on Monday.
“He was a bit unlucky in the last few games. It isn’t a lack of trust or quality, it is just that he will have to be patient.”
