MANILA, Philippines The Department of Health (DOH) has logged 1,783 new infections of COVID-19, boosting the countrys caseload to 582,223 as of Wednesday.
Of the total cases, 35,056 are considered active, according to DOHs daily case bulletin.
Most of the 90.1% of the cases experience mild symptoms, 4.7% are asymptomatic, 2.2% have severe symptoms while 2.2% are in critical condition.
The DOH also logged 330 new recoveries and 20 fatalities, bringing the total to 534,778 and 12,389, respectively.
Two duplicates were removed from the total case count, one of which was a recovery.
Meanwhile, DOH said 14 cases that were previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation.
Seven labs were not able to submit their data on March 2.
