Mesut Ozils imminent departure to Fenerbahce reduced one Arsenal fan to TEARS when they joined talkSPORT on Wednesday evening.
The 31-year-old, who was omitted from the Gunners Premier League and Europa League squads this season, is closing in on a move to the Super Lig giants.
Mesut Ozil is closing in on a move to Fenerbahce
According to BeIN Sports Turkey Ozil has already agreed a three-and-a-half year deal with the transfer ‘completed, and Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has admitted the future of the player will be resolved within the next few days.
The Spaniard played alongside Ozil after his record-breaking move in 2013 from Real Madrid, but their relationship has disintegrated since Arteta took charge at the Emirates.
It all proved too much for Arsenal fan Yas, who spoke to talkSPORT and broke down live on air as he labelled Arteta and former manager Unai Emery useless for their handling of the World Cup winner.
Its stupid, but Im passionate about football and good footballers as well, said Yas on Drivetime.
The 31-year-old last played for Arsenal on March 7 – when he set up the winner
Ive been following Ozil since he was playing for Werder Bremen and then he transferred to Real Madrid. Since then, I have probably watched every game of Real Madrid and every game of Arsenal since he played.
Hes an emotional guy; Im Turkish, he is Turkish, I know how we are different guys but he is always painted wrong by the guys in the media.
I played semi-pro football back in Cyprus and I know we can be very emotional, but we are passionate and we dont show it a lot and we dont clap the people when we lose a game.
We let our heads down and we walk off to the tunnel and we dont want to see anyone until the next game. People dont understand this kind of thing and when people call him lazy I am frustrated.
Ozil and former Gunners boss Unai Emery often clashed as well
Unai and Mikel are two of the most USELESS managers Arsenal have ever had and I tell you what, I make a prediction as well that Arteta will be going.
He will be going very soon!
Ozil joined Arsenal for a then club record £42.4million in 2013, but has not played since last March 7 when he assisted Alexandre Lacazette for the winner against West Ham United.
“We have to make a decision, Arteta said of the playmaker. I had to make a decision [omitting him from Premier League squad]. I made it. I knew the consequences of it.
And now we are having to make another in January, and we will put in the balance of the best thing for the club, the best thing for the team, the intention of the player and try to find the right solution.”
