The No. 1 rule in you’re participating in a Zoom news conference is to make sure that you’re muted.
Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence, who was outplayed by Ohio State’s Justin Fields during the Sugar Bowl on Friday, was offering his insight on his No. 2-ranked team’s 49-28 loss when he was interrupted by an offhand comment.
“Poor Trevor needs to shave his ‘stache,” a person on the call said.
The moderator reminded reporters to mute their computers unless they are asking a question.
Lawrence looked around and wasn’t sure at first how to respond.
He merely laughed and said, “Thank you.”
