Allies of Donald Trump and the Republican National Committee are weighing buying Newsmax and trying to help it compete with Fox News.
Donald Trump has been told to man up by popular progressive senator Bernie Sanders over his refusal to concede the US presidential election as he continues to insist that Joe Bidens victory in both the popular vote and Electoral College was only secured by fraud, a claim he has still yet to provide any meaningful evidence to support.
Mr Trump invited fresh ridicule on Twitter overnight by tweeting I WON in all-caps, prompting the phrase NO YOU DIDNT to trend on the social network in retaliation. That followed a weekend spent waving at far-right supporters gathering in DC from his motorcade, golfing and posting conspiracy theories as his legal challenges to swing state results fail to yield fruit.
His predecessor, Barack Obama, also criticised the president over his failure to admit the inevitable, telling CBSs 60 Minutes: “When your time is up then it is your job to put the country first and think beyond your own ego, and your own interests, and your own disappointments.

Bernie Sanders tells Trump to man up over election result
Donald Trump has been told to man up by popular progressive senator Bernie Sanders over his refusal to concede the US presidential election as he continues to insist that Joe Bidens victory in both the popular vote and Electoral College was only secured by fraud, a claim he has still yet to provide any meaningful evidence to support.
Speaking to Jake Tapper on CNNs State of the Union on Sunday, the Vermont independent said the presidents sulky denial is beyond belief in terms of behaviour for an American president, urging him to accept reality.
Asked by the host whether he was worried Trump could seek to stay in power beyond 20 January 2021 – the president-elects inauguration day – Sanders answered: “As more and more victories state by state are confirmed for Biden, I think public support, in any way, shape or form for the president is now going down.
“The idea that he continues to tell his supporters that the only reason he may have lost this election is because of fraud is an absolutely disgraceful, un-American thing to do.
And I would just hope to God that he has the decency in him to man up and say, ‘You know what? We fought hard, we lost the election. Good luck to Joe Biden. I love America.'”
Sanders continued, scathingly and with total justification: “Trump will have the distinction of doing more than any person in the history of this country in undermining American democracy.”
Tapper himself had plenty to say to the president and the Republican Party enabling him:
